8th IEEE Workshop on Optical Wireless Communications (OWC'18)

8th IEEE Workshop on Optical Wireless Communications (OWC’18)

The eighth Optical Communication Workshop (OWC) is now inviting researchers of optical wireless and visible light communications to submit their recent works to the OWC workshop. The OWC is held in conjunction with the IEEE Global Telecommunication Conference (Globecom2018) in Abu Dhabi, UAE, from 9 to 13 December 2018.

The workshop has been successfully held in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017, and the aim of this year’s workshop is eventually to establish OWC as a successful track within the main conference.

The OWC fosters a community and relevant focused activities, and present state-of-the-art research and development results from academia and industry at an international level. The workshop covers not only traditional (indoor and outdoor) infrared communications, but also the emerging visible light and ultraviolet communication technologies.

At this year’s workshop, we plan to have invited papers; in particular, we would like to reach a broader community of core communication theory, information theory, signal processing, and networking researchers. There are significant areas of overlapping interest that we hope to exploit to ensure that the OWC community does not become isolated in COMSOC.

For those of you wishing to submit but need more time to finish up your papers, we have good news for you. The submission deadline is extended to 14 July 2018.

Please visit the Globecom OWC site or here for more detail.
