Short Biography:
Dr. Takaya Yamazato is a professor and the Deputy Director at the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences at Nagoya University in Japan. He earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Keio University in 1993 and subsequently joined Nagoya University. Dr. Yamazato has also worked as a visiting researcher at the University of Kaiserslautern.
In 2006, he received the IEEE Communication Society's Best Tutorial Paper Award, and in 2019, he was honored with the IEICE Best Paper Award. From 2016 to 2017, he served on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Communication Society, where he held the position of Director of the Asia/Pacific Board. He edited the Japanese Section of the IEICE Transactions on Communications from 2009 to 2011 and chaired the editorial board from 2020 to 2021. Since 2024, he has been the Director of the Journal and Transactions of the IEICE. Additionally, starting in 2024, he became a board member of Open Education Global.
Dr. Yamazato's research interests include visible light communication, intelligent transport systems, stochastic resonance, and open educational resources.
